A typical day in our treatment programme

Everything at Winthrop Hall is focused on our clients.  Treatment is intensive, personalised and driven towards overcoming addiction.

The programme is very full, comprising of some 60 hours of structured treatment per week. This includes 12 step based lectures and process groups, CBT group therapy and regular one-to-one sessions with a therapist. Further one-to-one sessions can be arranged to work on specific issues such as anxiety, depression or bereavement, based on the needs of the individual client. Psycho-educational groups are provided on topics such as Alcohol, Smoking Cessation, Opiates and Sexual Health. In between one-to-one and group therapy, clients can book complementary therapies, meet with the personal trainer or attend group fitness classes, yoga and pilates. Each day begins and ends with calming mindfulness exercises and a chance to reflect on aims and achievements for the day.

There is the opportunity to attend local Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings several evenings per week. There is leisure time too, allowing clients space to relax and unwind.
