Dr Luke Mitcheson
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Dr Mitcheson has worked for 15 years in NHS community and
in-patient drug and alcohol treatment centres. He has developed
treatment programmes for stimulant drug and cannabis users as well
as providing psychological treatment for clients with mental health
problems in addition to their substance dependency. He is an
accredited psychotherapist with the British Association of
Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists and has completed
training to be a trainer in motivational interviewing. He
teaches on the MSc Clinical & Public Health Aspects of
Addiction at the Institute of Psychiatry as well as the Doctoral
Clinical Psychology Training Programme. He has published academic
articles on a variety of aspects of substance use.
