Medically supervised drug and alcohol detox

Addiction treatment may begin with a medically supervised period of detoxification. This includes a comprehensive assessment of the needs of each client, and the development of a personalised withdrawal management care plan.

For many clients the thought of withdrawing from drugs or alcohol can be daunting, but at Winthrop Hall clients are assessed by clinical staff who are very experienced and knowledgeable about the withdrawal process. Clients will have an individual withdrawal management plan, taking into account their substance of choice, which may include prescribed, licensed medication. Withdrawal symptoms are carefully monitored to ensure that detox is safe and as comfortable as possible. Complementary therapy will also be a core part of the withdrawal management programme to enhance comfort and assist with relaxation.
