Clinical assessment
Prior to admission to the clinic our clinicians will conduct a
brief triage assessment to determine that the client is
ready to begin the process of recovery. This may involve a few
questions to you, the client, a member of the client’s family, or a
client’s friend or colleague regarding their alcohol or drug use
and general health.
Following admission a comprehensive clinical assessment is made
to determine the best treatment plan for each client. Principally
this includes a determination of the client’s medical condition, a
history of their substance misuse and a psychological
assessment. We also undertake assessments of the client’s physical
fitness, diet and appropriateness for specific complementary
therapies. Finally, during the early stages of treatment
we will conduct a family and support group assessment.
No part of the assessment process will be invasive or overly
intrusive for the client and the results will only be used to
determine the best treatment plan for their addiction.
